March 13, 2015: CEM Instruments launched a handheld thermal imaging camera used for predictive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and verification. Thermal and visual images are displayed on the LCD and can be saved to a microSD, which can be later connected to a PC to transfer these images. Additionally, this thermal imager provides video recording with audio and playback. It generates 80×80 pixel high resolution IR images, and is equipped with a 5 megapixel digital camera with a flash, which provides sharp images regardless of lighting conditions. It can display thermal images superimposed over a digital image. In addition, it allows the visual camera and fusion feature to be used in poorly lit environments. It has laser sighting as well so that the targets can be easily recognised. The imager can work in temperatures ranging from -20 to +350° Celsius with ±2 per cent accuracy. It is powered by a Li-Ion rechargeable battery, which lasts more than four hours in continuous use and is also replaceable. Equipped with a USB interface, it enables easy uploading of images from the camera to another device.
