Features and USP: These cables can be used with handheld or portable machines, cranes, material handling equipment, mining machines, for various marine applications and more. They offer higher durability as they are manufactured in modern manufacturing lines that have highly flexible copper conductors, high quality EPR insulation, superior tougher rubber sheaths, thus making the cables more robust. The specially formulated rubber insulated and tough rubber sheathed cables of 1.1, 3.3, 5, 6.6 and 11KV grades are manufactured as per both Indian and international standards.

Halogen free cables

In March 2012, Top Cable launched its Toxfree RZ1-K (AS) cables for security installations.

Features and USP: The Toxfree RZ1-K (AS) (0.6/1kV) cable is the most representative of Top Cable’s broad range of halogen free cables and is available in the following versions—unipolar, multi-conductor, armoured, screening and aluminium. This cable was designed starting with an electrolytic copper conductor, class 5 (flexible), and is based on EN 60228. Its XLPE insulation allows these cables to transmit greater power with better resistance to surges. The green colour of the LSZH polyolephine outer sheath clearly identifies these halogen free cables with respect to their PVC equivalents, which have a black outer sheath. The LSZH outer sheath of the Toxfree RZ1-K (AS) cable makes sure that in the case of an outbreak of fire, it does not spread, which considerably improves the security of the installations.

Twinaxial cables

In October 2011, 3M launched its ultra low profile, high speed and high signal density Twinaxial cable.

Features and USP: 3M’s Twinaxial cable supports a speed of 10 GBps and above, depending on the length and attenuation requirements. It can be efficiently routed‚ making multiple folds and bends to save space and improve airflow while performing at incredibly high speeds. Additionally, the cable’s high end signal performance and lack of resonance to 20 GHz provide the designer with the ability to use the same cable for current and future higher bandwidth protocols. Also, its construction makes it easy to prepare for assembly and termination. The cable’s longitudinal shielding means there is no wrapped or braided material to strip, and the wire pairs lie flat and in the correct position for terminating—this helps save time and costs during assembly.

Cold shock guarantee cables

In January 2012, Lapp Kabel launched the Skintop Solar cable gland for photovoltaic junction boxes.

Features and USP: The most important test criterion for compliance with the new DIN EN 50548 standard is the increased cold shock resistance in line with UL 1703/UL746C. On the new Skintop Solar cable gland, this shock resistance is achieved by using a polycarbonate compound specially developed to meet these requirements. Another feature is the high UV and weather resistance complying with UL F1 outdoor use. This guarantees an exceptionally long service life. The cable is extremely flame retardant and is self-extinguishing in cases of fire. The temperature range is between -40 and +125°C, guaranteeing excellent weather resistance in hot conditions, snow or rain. This is supplemented by outstanding strain relief. The cable can easily withstand even the strains caused by wind and ice.
