LED down lights
In February 2012, GlacialLight added a 15.24cm (6 inch) TRIAC dimmable LED down light to its Capella series.
Features and USP: The GL-DL06D offers a low-voltage and a high-voltage variant supporting 90-132 V and 180-264 V, respectively. It is available in three models—the GL-DL06D-WW, the GL-DL06D-NW and the GL-DL06D-CW. These have colour correlated temperatures of 3000K, 4000K and 6000K and a luminous flux of 560 lm, 560 lm and 730 lm, respectively.
The all in one bulb and fixture down light consumes 12 watts. Meant for indoor use only, it operates for a minimum of 30,000 hours.

LED aviation obstruction lights
In February 2012, Binay Opto introduced the MIA-DX-40KCD-W LED aviation obstruction light.
Features and USP: The flashing white light is designed to meet the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) requirements for medium intensity Type A aviation obstruction lights. It utilises a light source consisting of multiple stacks of high intensity power LEDs mounted on reflector modules, configured to provide wide angle dispersion. There is a facility to change over to the lower intensity requirement of ICAO’s Type A during the night. A GPS facility can be incorporated for synchronised flashing of all such aviation lights on a structure. The body and base of the model is made with the LM-6 aluminium-silicon alloy and is designed to IP65 standards. The large-diameter aluminium top acts as heat sink.

LED lanterns
In January 2012, Liberty Lighting India launched a 2W solar LED lantern that has three optional power sources—solar, AC and pencil cells (AA battery).
Features and USP: The lantern is fitted with a 14 LED (5mm-20mA) and a Li-ion polymer 3.7V 1850mAh battery with a protection circuit. It can emit light for 6-7 hours on a single charge. To support the lantern, a 2W PV module and AC charger can be used and if there are any problems in charging, the lantern can be operated with cells.
