In July 2014, Cambridge Instruments and Engineering Company launched an insulation resistance tester that can be used to test 5KV insulation resistance. The tester is a low power consuming CMOS dual integral A/D conversion IC. It comes with a 3½ bit large screen LCD display that gives a maximum reading of 1999. The tester has the data holding feature and a functional icons display. The tester is equipped with perfect protection circuits, which can effectively prevent the harm caused by reverse voltage. The LCD dimensions of the tester are 65 x 48 mm. Other features are: battery power of 8×1.5V (R6 AA); dimensions of 190×155×75 mm; and weight of approximately 900 g (including batteries). The testing voltage range covers 100V, 250V, 500V, 1000V, 2500V and 5000V, and the output voltage is 90 per cent ~ 110 per cent of the test voltage. The front panel of the tester is equipped with an LCD screen, high voltage LED indicator, a data holding button, a test button, a backlight button and a rotating function selector.
