Xiaomi India has recently revealed that the company has shipped more than 9.2 million smartphones in the country in the third quarter of 2017.
This is the first time when the Chinese company achieved such a milestone since its entry into Indian market. It is to be noted that the company had shipped 100,000 devices in a quarter of 2014. The company touched the 1 million mark in Q3 2015 and in Q3 2016 it shipped 3 million phones, and now it has crossed the 9 million mark.
Manu Kumar Jain, the company’s Global VP, and MD, Xiaomi India announced this on his twitter account. He also tweeted that Xiaomi phones are the top three best-selling smartphones in India, as per Counterpoint a technology industry research, analysis and consulting firm. Counterpoint data says that Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A are the three best-selling smartphones in India.
Globally, Xiaomi has shipped more than 70 Million units until the October of this year. The company has surpassed its target set for the year. According to another firm IDC, Xiaomi stands at the fifth spot in the global smartphone rankings for Q3 2017. The company has sold 27.6 million units in the third quarter of 2016 which is up by 102.6 percent  from the same quarter of 2016.
