Videocon, once the country’s largest consumer electronics maker, seems to be making a comeback with the help of some three dozen former executives of market leader LG India. Over the past one year, Videocon increased its market share in all major product categories, such as refrigerators, washing machines and televisions, by 2%-5%, replicating LG’s early strategy of focusing on mass products and expanding reach, company and industry insiders say.
