After two days of massive outrage due to country’s largest power grid failure, the governement is working on a plan under which it promises to provide uninterrupted power supply for critical services even when a grid collapses, says a report.
These services include hospitals, railways including local metro transport, water supply systems and banks.
“We are looking at what is called islanding of areas to prevent disruption of essential services during any such untoward incident of a grid collapse,” Power Minister Veerappa Moily said. “While the exact details are being worked out under the concept that is prevalent in most western countries, we will have dedicated power plants and feeder lines to keep emergency services running even when the grid trips.”
Thiis will definitely give a boost to power backup industry.
