UK-based Company Kloudpad is set to launch Innovate-2020 program with an R & D division called ‘Cloudsys Analytical Labs’ at Kochi on Wednesday, as a platform to help Kerala based start-ups and to bring new products and services into the market.
It forms of its plan to invest about Rs 5,000 crore for a high-tech electronics manufacturing hub in Kerala, supporting Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Make in India’ campaign.
Earlier, Kloudpad had planned to invest Rs 1000 crore in Kerala, yet chose Tamil Nadu for the project. Interestingly, now the same firm plans to make five times the earlier proposed investment in Kerala. Its electronics hub will manufacture products for intelligent integrated transport and offer the wireless backbone for the ambitious Smart City project in Kochi.
British Deputy High Commissioner Bharat Joshi told media that he is pleased to welcome Dr Catherine Raines, director general of International Trade & Investment, Department for International Trade for the launch and to see for herself the vibrant and growing trade and investment relationship that exists here. Catherine Raines will also visit Kerala-based British businesses and Kerala investors into the UK.
Now, Cloudsys will showcase new technologies specifically designed for smart cities solutions including healthcare automation devices, smart meters and intelligent character recognition, amongst others, informed Anita Mawdsley, official spokesperson from the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai.
