TCL Electronics TV Sets Sales Exceeds 21.12 Million

In the first nine months of this year, the sales volumes of the company’s smart TVs jumped by 49.1% year-on-year to 15,209,174 sets

TCL Electronics Holdings Limited, a leading manufacturer of television and other consumer electronics, announced that its LCD TV sales volume recorded a growth of 31.1% year-on-year and crossed 21.12 million sets mark, in the first three quarters of this year. With this, the company completed 82.5% of its initial sales target of 25.6 million sets for the full-year.

In the third quarter ending September 30, the sales volume of LCD TVs was 7.95 million sets, touching the quarterly high record. Compared to same period previous year, there is an increase of 22.1%.

These are a part of the business updates released by TCL Electronics on certain unaudited financial and operational information for the three months and nine months ended September 30, 2018. In view of the company’s sales performance exceeded its expectations, it has raised the full year sales target to 28.30 million sets.

Being committed to its premium product category, the Company has been continuously improving its product competitiveness and enhancing its product mix. In the first nine months of this year, the sales volumes of the company’s smart TVs jumped by 49.1% year-on-year to 15,209,174 sets and 4K TVs soared by 63.6% year-on-year to 6,110,057 sets.

TCL Electronics has been continuously putting its effort on reduction of cost and enhancement of efficiency. The Company’s profitability continued to improve due to the economies of scale and effective control on expenses.

Increase in turnover

The turnover of TCL Electronics has increased by 16.1% to a record high of HK$32.79 billion in the first nine months of this year as compared to the same period last year. During the period, the company’s gross profit increased by 17.7% to around HK$4.97 billion, as compared to same period in the previous year.

TCL Electronics has been ranked No. 3 by Sigmaintell data, in the world TV market, having a share of about 11.8% in terms of sales volume in the first six months of 2018. TCL Electronics is the only Chinese TV brand among the global top 3.
