Sundararajan Says Products from Electronics Incubator have Potential to Capture Market

Telecom Secretary assured of providing all the required support from the Central Government in order to push the growth of products from Maker Village

Innovative and advanced technology products from Maker Village, the biggest electronics incubator in India, have the capability to capture markets, said Aruna Sundararajan, Telecom Secretary, Government of India, on Saturday.

Some of the products displayed at the technology expo of Maker Village were highly remarkable and could become huge success stories in the coming days, she said after visiting the Maker Village’s technology expo in Kochi.

Sundararajan, who is also Telecom Commission’s Chairman, assured of providing all the required support from the Central Government in order to push the growth of products from Maker Village, according to press release issued by Maker Village.

She also praised the noteworthy progress made by the Maker Village, which is hosting around 65 start ups associated with cutting-edge technologies, since its commencement.

Perfect blend of technology

Maker Village has brought at one place a wide array of start-ups that have a perfect mix of cutting-edge technology to tackle social needs by keeping in mind that technology is incomplete until it is used for the benefit of common man, according to the release.

There are 14 startups participating in the technology expo and have state-of-the-art technologies that could cater to the need of rural, health care, environmental, disaster management and other social requirements, it added.

The Electronics Incubator, Maker Village, is a combined initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Kerala (IIITM K), Kerala Startup Mission and Government of Kerala. The major aim of the initiative to promote consumer electronic- based innovation and establish innovation centers and labs that are focused on the present trends and emerging technologies of disruptive nature in order to bring the country to the forefront of innovation in electronics field.
