Wednesday, August 14, 2013: Su-Kam, the power equipment maker won a contract for the installation of solar projects at 35 schools in Rwanda, Africa. “The company has recently bagged a turnkey solar project covering 35 schools in Rwanda, Africa,” Su-Kam said in a statement. “Su-Kam shall supply, install and commission Solar Photo Voltaic equipment and associated items for 35 schools in remote areas of Rwanda,” it told ET.
According to the statement, the company prior to the installation will carry out a survey of the site and will also be responsible for drawing a detailed engineering plant.
In addition to it, the officials of Su-Kam will be giving onsite training on operation and maintenance (O&M) to the personnel of Rwanda. The company stated that the continent has ample solar energy that can be tapped. The power equipment maker has overseas presence in more than 70 countries of the world. Moreover, it has won various power projects in the African countries such as Nigeria, Malawi, Gabon, etc.
The company is considered as India’s top manufacturer of energy efficient power products. It creates intelligent power back-up solutions, engineered to be energy efficient and thus reduce the user’s carbon footprint. Therefore, it is seen as a leader in the power back-up industry in India.
