In a shot in the arm Startup Accelerator India (SAI), a leading technology venture accelerator set up in the city in collaboration with Singapore-based Govin Capital and the Department of IT, Electronics and Communication, Andhra Pradesh Government has made 12 patent enquiries, filed three patents and published eight more.
SAI is focusing on digital healthcare, Internet of Things, big data and fintech. SAI became fully operational with a world-class ‘plug & play incubator’ from January, 2017. Till date it has incubated 10 startups. It graduated five startups and 15 new startups will be groomed shortly.
Stating that their initiative to groom startups had evoked a big response, Govin Capital CEO Anand Govindaluri told an English daily that they could able to generate 70 direct entrepreneurial jobs, offer 82 internships and 50 contractual jobs.
SAI has drawn a blueprint to expand its footprint across tier-II cities and emerging smart cities in Pune, Lucknow and Indore.
It has also constituted an international panel of mentors from Sweden, Singapore and India. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Center-Lucknow founder Srijan Pal Singh has been made the chief mentor and director of SAI.
SAI has expanded startup operations in Uttar Pradesh after signing MoU with Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Startup ecosystem in Indore is being supported in collaboration with i5 Summit organised by IIM-Indore and IIT-Indore.
Mr. Govindaluri, who is the founder and director of SAI, said they signed an MoU with Novel Patent Services, Visakhapatnam to conduct patent awareness camps and hold startup workshops across the State.
