SECI is expected to issue the tender documents for the 100 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic (PV) project on April 22, 2019

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a PSU dedicated to solar energy sector, has announced a tender for the development of solar power projects of 100 MW at the Singareni Collieries Co Ltd (SCCL) in the state of Telangana.

As per the tender, the scope of work for the projects includes the design, engineering, erection, construction, supply, testing and commissioning of a 100 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic (PV) project under diverse packages at the SCCL. In addition, the scope of work comprises operation and maintenance services for 10 years.

SECI is expected to issue the tender documents for the project on April 22, 2019.

The Singareni Collieries is a state-run coal mining company in India and is jointly owned by the central government and the state government of Telangana.

Projects on EPC basis

In October last year, SECI issued a tender for awarding EPC contracts for the developing 129 MW solar PV capacity that is spread across different locations of SCCL.

Later, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a PSU involved in manufacturing of electrical equipment, got the order for the development of 129 MW of solar power projects for Singareni Collieries, on EPC basis. The projects were to be established at four different locations including 50 MW capacity project at Ramagundam, 39 MW project at Yellandu, 30 MW at Manuguru, and 10 MW capacity project at Pegadapally.

Last month, SECI has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) for setting up of 2,000 MW of grid-connected solar PV power projects (Tranche-I) under the second phase of the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) programme.
