Samsung R&D Institute-Bangalore to Shift its Business Functions to New Office

An engineer of Samsung R&D Institute India-Bangalore has received the 2018 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Excellence Award.  

Samsung Research and Development Institute has picked up 4,00,000 sq ft of office space in Bagmane Goldstone, Bengaluru.

The company is expected to move one of its business functions from the exiting R&D unit in Bengaluru to the new office which can seat at least 4,000 employees, sources told ET.

As revealed by data and analytic firm Propstack, the property taken by Samsung in Bagmane Goldstone, part of Bagmane WTC, was registered in February.

Samsung R&D Institute India-Bengaluru is Samsung group’s largest R&D centre outside of South Korea and its key innovation hub.

The India operation focuses on creating cutting-edge technologies across multiple areas of Samsung’s business, including artificial intelligence (AI) for both global and India operation.

Bagmane WTC Park on Outer Ring Road, Bengaluru, is spread over 52 acres and has a total built-up space of 6 million sq ft.

Samsung R&D Institute India Researcher Receives 3GPP Excellence Award

Basavaraj Pattan, an engineer of Samsung R&D Institute India-Bangalore (SRI-B), has received the 2018 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Excellence Award.

The award recognizes individuals who have made significant technical contributions to the continuing innovations in mobile broadband technology and is presented by 3GPP, a global initiative formed to develop technical specifications for the latest mobile broadband standards such as LTE and 5G.

Pattan was recognized for his contributions in the field of mission-critical communications technology and 5G service API platform, the company said on Monday.

“Samsung employee receiving this recognition reflects our journey towards Advanced R&D, and our company’s commitment to broadband mission-critical services and a robust platform for 5G services” said Dr. Aloknath De, CTO in SRI-B.
