Reliance Jio and Samsung will be using millimeter wave spectrum to conduct these 5G field trials in India.

5G key for digitising India

Youngky Kim, president and head of networks business, Samsung Electronics underlining the importance of 5G at IMC 2018, said, “5G will be the key to bring smart factories, smart cities and smart agriculture to a new, digitalised India. Samsung will pave the way for 5G to unlock the full potential of India together with industry leaders.”

Samsung is currently showcasing the ways its 5G solutions will enable various 5G-powered scenarios and other business models. The demonstrated 5G solutions by Samsung include applications in home broadband services, agriculture and in smart cities.

Samsung’s Global 5G Portfolio

The Korean telecom gear maker has recently worked with Verizon network in United States to launch 5G commercial services in the country. Samsung is also actively working on deploying commercial 5G technology with several Korean and US based telecom operators.

It is also the only telecom gear maker in country that provides 4G equipment to Reliance Jio’s India network.

Samsung’s previous experience in working on the 5G technology across the globe might be of great help when it starts conducting 5G field trials here in India
