Recyclekaro’s New Tech Boosts Capacity To 75,000 Tons/Year

The company is set to launch India’s inaugural Plasma Furnace Technology Unit to extract valuable metals. According to the company, this breakthrough marks a significant advancement in recycling and resource recovery, placing India at the leading edge of environmental innovation.

Recyclekaro, a leader in e-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling in India, is set to launch the country’s first Plasma Furnace Technology Unit for extracting high-value metals. According to the company, this innovation represents a significant step in recycling and resource recovery, placing India at the forefront of environmental sustainability.

Plasma Furnace Technology uses high-temperature plasma arcs to extract valuable metals from various waste streams efficiently. This method provides a cleaner, more sustainable alternative to conventional extraction techniques. Recyclekaro’s cutting-edge unit, with a current capacity of 75,000 metric tonnes, recovers precious metals like gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, as well as rare earth metals from electronic waste and industrial residues. Installing the new plasma furnace is expected to increase Recyclekaro’s e-waste recycling capacity nearly tenfold to 75,000 metric tonnes annually, as a media release states.

With China currently dominating around 85% of rare earth elements (REE) production, Recyclekaro aims to make a significant contribution to this industry, targeting up to 1 million to 1.5 million tonnes per annum.

Rajesh Gupta, the Founder and Director of Recyclekaro, announced the launch of India’s first Plasma Furnace Technology Unit as a significant step forward in transforming waste management and resource recovery. He highlighted that this technology would allow the extraction of rare earth metals from existing e-waste, helping conserve resources and decreasing dependence on imports.

Plasma Furnace Technology generates temperatures between 5,000 to 10,000 degrees Celsius, allowing faster processing times and higher metal recovery rates than traditional methods. With an expected 90% increase in efficiency and productivity, this environmentally friendly technology aligns with Recyclekaro’s sustainability goals and regulatory standards. The Plasma Furnace Technology Unit will be equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, ensuring cost-effective and eco-friendly operations while meeting strict environmental and safety standards. This advancement is poised to offer economic opportunities for India and contribute to the circular economy, job creation, and technological innovation, as mentioned in the release.
