With the launch of Axia, VAVE Centre of Excellence at its facility in Pune, global engineering services provider Tata Technologies has expanded its existing engineering research and development.
Tata Technologies intends to offer end-to-end product development capabilities to all its clients, primarily in the automotive, aerospace and industrial space with the help of the new 8,700 sq ft facility that Pune has provided with.
The new centre is the first crucial step towards building a company that would be more balanced between the virtual and physical world.
In the near future the company is planning to fetch prototype testing and validation capabilities which in turn will enable them to take responsibilities for innovation and development from concept to launch.
The company was looking at making its presence in Silicon Valley to build relationships with local start-ups and technology companies which it could then utilize towards supporting its own customers, as a part of their global business strategy.
Harris further exclaimed that they would look at collaborating with or investing in venture capital firms so that they can influence their investments into areas like electric and connected cars and alternate propulsion technologies.
Tata Technologies currently engages 8500 employees, and plans to take this up to 10,000 globally by the end of this year. The company may look at setting up other similar facilities or expansion plans in the future.
Warren is being affirmative of taking a step forward only if this new model works out successfully.
