PM Modi: India the Global Hub of Electronics and Auto Manufacturing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the Business Leaders Forum, discussed the startup and innovation ecosystem and urged business leaders to engage more in India

Addressing the Indian community in Tokyo, Japan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative had emerged as a global brand. He emphasized that the country had been increasingly manufacturing quality products in the electronics and automobile segments, thereby positioning itself in the global map.

The PM shared about India’s growing electronics manufacturing industry and said that the country is on its way to become the top smartphone producing nation in the world.

Business leaders’ forum

Modi, at the Japan Business Leaders Forum, interacted with business leaders from Japan and India and said that the Forum offered a platform to exchange ideas on accomplishing India’s dream to reach a global benchmark. He also welcomed the Japanese businessmen to extend their businesses in India.

The forum offered was a meeting point of Japanese venture capitalists and discussions on boosting the country’s startup and innovation ecosystem was held.

PM’s address to the Indian community

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his address to the Indian community residing in Tokyo, highlighted India’s transformative phase. He shared about the government’s policies for the betterment of the citizens. He also highlighted the country’s development in the digital infrastructure sector. Talking about India’s internet connectivity, the leader said that with over 100 crore mobile phones, broadband had been able to penetrate to the remote rural areas.

Prior to his departure, the PM, on a statement issued, stated that Japan was one of India’s most trusted partners in the economic and technological modernisations. The country was also one of the top investors. His visit to Japan was aimed at promoting traditional ties between New Delhi and Tokyo consolidate the partnership for a better and more prosperous future.

Modi and Japan Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe will be discussing economic co-operation and bilateral security at the 13th India-Japan annual summit.
