Opple launches flagship experience store in Chennai

January 30, 2015: Opple Lighting, a global integrated lighting solutions company, has inaugurated its first ever ‘Experience Store’ in the country, at No.1, Whites Road, Royapettah, Chennai. Spread over 2000sq feet, the Opple Experience Store, is a one stop shop for all lighting application needs. Globally present across 50 countries, the brand presented a complete range of LED solutions, segregated into various sections including Consumer, Professional, Retail, Hospitality and Industry. The star products at the launch were the Tetris light wall – a testimony to OPPLE’s capabilities in complex thematic lighting solutions and the Shining Moon- an app controlled premium luminaire. OPPLE products come with the promise of offering international quality at affordable prices, backed by state-of-the-art technology. The company has a detailed understanding of the regional preferences, which will help build awareness amongst consumers and drive demand for quality LEDs lighting solutions in the region.

Commenting on the brand’s plans, Mr. S. Venkataramani, Chairman, Opple Lighting India said, “OPPLE will play a defining role in ushering in the LED transformation in the country. Our strong technology and R&D investments equips us to cater to markets with speed and ease, bringing in a complete global suite of products that address the specificities of regional customers as well. We believe India is potentially an USD 500mn LED market by 2017 and we are poised to harness this opportunity starting with Southern India. With an initial investment of INR 600 million, OPPLE will roll out 30 large format exclusive brand stores across the top 30 cities in India in next 3 years. We are targeting a turnover of INR 450 crores from the Indian market in the next 3 years, out of which we expect a 40% share from Southern India.”

The Experience Store also featured a special consulting service for ‘Lighting Design Solutions’, where-in OPPLE experts will help the consumers understand & implement the best lighting solutions for their space. This service will help consumers to achieve optimum efficiency with the most pleasant results.

The lighting industry currently stands at 12,000cr in India, growing at a pace of 17-18 per cent. The noticeable segment growing at a rapid pace within this is LED lighting, clocking in growth at about 41.5 per cent as per ELCOMA. India, just being at the cusp of a transition from CFL to LED lighting provides a perfect base for LED solution makers to capitalize on the opportunity.
