Cadence acquires Azuro
Cadence Designs Systems has acquired Azuro, which focuses on clock concurrent optimisation technology that is billed as providing SoC designers with improved power, performance and area results. It joined a Cadence sponsored software interoperability effort based on the common power format last year.

Maxim pays $130 million for MEMS firm
Maxim Integrated Products has acquired fabless MEMS firm SensorDynamics AG for $130 million. With the acquisition of the company Maxim takes on about $34 million of debt. SensorDynamics (Lebring, Austria) was founded in 2002 and has developed proprietary sensor and MEMS integrated circuits.

National Instruments Announces Closing of AWR Corporation Acquisition
National Instruments announced the successful completion of its acquisition of AWR Corporation as planned. Effective July 1, AWR, a leading supplier of electronic design automation (EDA) software, will operate as a wholly owned NI subsidiary under the leadership of the existing management team.

Digi-Key offers integrated online experience
Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation offers electronic engineers and procurement professionals valuable product information, design tools, and resources—all integrated and readily available on its global websites. It informs purchasers by providing updated new product highlight pages (located on Digi-Key’s supplier pages). It also offers product training modules (PTMs)—training portals designed to offer indepth product knowledge regarding the latest innovations. SOCOMEC launches scheme for channel partners
SOCOMEC UPS India, one of the leading UPS sellers in the Indian market, has announced ‘SOCOMEC monsoon mayajaal scheme’ for its prestigious channel partners across India. The promo scheme will motivate its channel partners to thunder strike the sales targets and enjoy the intense showery of gifts. It floated two schemes one for its business partners, and one for its authorised national distributor Redington India. The point based business partner scheme is mainly focused on increasing the sales of its range ITYS and NeTYS RT range of products from 1kVA to 11kVA. SOCOMEC also announced turnover based scheme for its channel partners, where the partners can gain the fixed percentage on TOB plus the cash reward as incentive if they achieves the set targets.

Morningstar’s solar controller gets IEC certification
Morningstar has announced that its TriStar MPPT solar controller has received IEC62093 certification. It has passed rigorous testing for conditions such as mechanical impact, shock, vibration, damp heat, and robustness of terminals. Introduced in November 2009, this product is now the preferred solar controller for large, off-grid PV systems including remote telecommunications, security and monitoring, railroad signalisation, as well as schools, medical clinics and homes.
Schneider India eyes Rs 100 bn sales
Buoyed by growing opportunities in the Indian energy sector, Schneider Electric India, a subsidiary of the 20 billion French energy management solutions provider Schneider Electric, is expecting to more than double its India revenues to around Rs 100 billion (Rs 10,000 crore) by March 2015. The company, after the spree of acquisitions in the Indian market with 31 manufacturing facilities spread across the country now, has reported sales of around Rs 45 billion (Rs 4500 crore) in the last fiscal.

element14 and Micriµm sign distribution pact
In line with the group’s focus on providing engineering design solutions, driving business to the web and growth in emerging markets, element14, part of the Premier Farnell group, announced a global distribution agreement with Micriµm, a leading supplier of embedded RTOS solutions for the global engineering community. In this agreement, Micriµm will extend their product and marketing support to element14, and collaborate on new product information via the element14 knode, the revolutionary online design platform.

Fujitsu India and Siemens’ new alliance partnership
Fujitsu India and Siemens Enterprise Communications India announce new alliance partnership enabling an end-to-end portfolio for customers. The combined expertise of these two giants from the IT and communications fields will change the serviceability spectrum to the Indian market and take it to the next level. As a result of the new alliance, the two companies intend to jointly offer IT & Communications solutions leveraging Fujitsu’s IT competence and Siemens Enterprise Communications’ Unified Communication expertise.

element14 doubles its inventory portfolio
element14 (formerly Farnell), the industry’s first fusion of commerce and community supporting engineers and purchasing professionals worldwide, announced the expansion of its inventory portfolio to over 130,000 products, doubling its product range over the past year to give customers the broadest electronic and maintenance products selection stocked in the region to ensure fast delivery to destinations in Asia Pacific. element14’s regional inventory, which comprises of products from 3,500 leading suppliers.

Delta India’s Rudrapur plant gets LEED certificate
Delta India Electronics announced its Rudrapur plant has successfully achieved LEED certification as ‘Gold rated’ green building and received the honour from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). LEED certification is an international standards system for green building design based on the US Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) system. The Rudrapur factory consumes 35 per cent less energy compared to a conventional building of the same size. It is designed using energy efficient architecture, natural sky-lighting and ventilation, rain water harvesting and water re-cycling, as well as using eco-friendly building materialsBHEL and BEL consortium to invest Rs 2,000 crore in AP

BHEL, BEL invest in PV module plant
Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) and Bharat Electronics (BEL) have decided to invest Rs 20 billion (Rs 2000 crore) to set up a solar photovoltaic modules production unit near Hyderabad. About 90 acres of land in Fab city has been allotted for the proposed project. Besides, Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) has also proposed six units including a missile unit in Ranga Reddy district with a cumulative investment of Rs 30 billion (Rs 3000 crore). The new investment through the PSU joint venture is expected to help the state to revive its 1040 acre Fab city project near Hyderabad.

SOCOMEC appoints new country manager
SOCOMEC UPS India, one of the leading UPS sellers in the Indian market, has recently announced appointment of Arunabh Ghosh as country manager for channel business. Arunabh joins SOCOMEC to lead channel business and will further develop the sales strategy. His focus would be on acquiring new partners which will enhance Socomec’s presence in the Indian market. This move is, therefore, a clear indication that as an organization we are moving from strength to strength.
