Cadence acquires Azuro
Cadence Designs Systems has acquired Azuro, which focuses on clock concurrent optimisation technology that is billed as providing SoC designers with improved power, performance and area results. It joined a Cadence sponsored software interoperability effort based on the common power format last year.
Maxim pays $130 million for MEMS firm
Maxim Integrated Products has acquired fabless MEMS firm SensorDynamics AG for $130 million. With the acquisition of the company Maxim takes on about $34 million of debt. SensorDynamics (Lebring, Austria) was founded in 2002 and has developed proprietary sensor and MEMS integrated circuits.
National Instruments Announces Closing of AWR Corporation Acquisition
National Instruments announced the successful completion of its acquisition of AWR Corporation as planned. Effective July 1, AWR, a leading supplier of electronic design automation (EDA) software, will operate as a wholly owned NI subsidiary under the leadership of the existing management team.

Morningstar’s solar controller gets IEC certification
Morningstar has announced that its TriStar MPPT solar controller has received IEC62093 certification. It has passed rigorous testing for conditions such as mechanical impact, shock, vibration, damp heat, and robustness of terminals. Introduced in November 2009, this product is now the preferred solar controller for large, off-grid PV systems including remote telecommunications, security and monitoring, railroad signalisation, as well as schools, medical clinics and homes.
Schneider India eyes Rs 100 bn sales
Buoyed by growing opportunities in the Indian energy sector, Schneider Electric India, a subsidiary of the 20 billion French energy management solutions provider Schneider Electric, is expecting to more than double its India revenues to around Rs 100 billion (Rs 10,000 crore) by March 2015. The company, after the spree of acquisitions in the Indian market with 31 manufacturing facilities spread across the country now, has reported sales of around Rs 45 billion (Rs 4500 crore) in the last fiscal.

Delta India’s Rudrapur plant gets LEED certificate
Delta India Electronics announced its Rudrapur plant has successfully achieved LEED certification as ‘Gold rated’ green building and received the honour from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). LEED certification is an international standards system for green building design based on the US Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) system. The Rudrapur factory consumes 35 per cent less energy compared to a conventional building of the same size. BHEL, BEL invest in PV module plant
Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) and Bharat Electronics (BEL) have decided to invest Rs 20 billion (Rs 2000 crore) to set up a solar photovoltaic modules production unit near Hyderabad. About 90 acres of land in Fab city has been allotted for the proposed project. Besides, Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) has also proposed six units including a missile unit in Ranga Reddy district with a cumulative investment of Rs 30 billion (Rs 3000 crore). The new investment through the PSU joint venture is expected to help the state to revive its 1040 acre Fab city project near Hyderabad.
