Myntra Aims Big with its First Wearable Device Blink Go

This smart device can set a goal for your weekly sleep, make bedtime reminders and wake targets in order to help you achieve your fitness plan

Myntra has launched its first wearable smart device – Blink Go, which was created at the in-house innovation labs at Myntra- Jabong. The fashion and e-commerce brand will make the device available for worth Rs. 4199 during its flagship ‘End of Reason Sale’ that will begin on June 22 and will end of June 25, 2018. With this innovation, Myntra expects to obtain 10 to 20% of the wearables’ market by 2021.

Help users in active multi-tracking

Blink Go is a smart wrist band that let users connect multiple devices to one account using the app, which automatically detects the switching between devices. The product is equipped with features such as activity tracking – steps, distance, calories, sleep and heart rate sensors, and is available with Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display and designer straps.

The device can also be synced with smartphones thereby allowing you to receive standard alerts and notifications. Blink Go can be used while challenging your family or friends on fitness tasks and goals. The device has leaderboards where you can enter both your and your competitor’s scores and get a rank .

Besides all these, this smart device can set a weekly sleep goal, make bedtime reminders and wake targets for you therefore, enabling you to achieve your fitness goals with precision.

Blink Go has set the stage for more Myntra innovations

Blink Go has been built on the Myntra Wearables Platform (MWP) and Myntra believes that this innovation will enable the development of a wide array of wearables, which can discover and communicate with each other. The brand expects to use their wearables platform as the foundation of several such innovations that it plans to launch in the future.

Eyeing to grow big in the wearables market

Following the recent takeover of Witworks – a consumer Internet of Things (IoT) company that develops smart wearables and home devices, Myntra hopes to make more investments in the technology sector.

Speaking at the launch of Blink Go, Jeyendran Venugopal, Chief Technology Officer, Myntra, said that the device is a proper blend of fashion and technology, built to help their customers maintain their fitness targets and stay fit.

He added: “The market for smart wearable’s in India has been growing at a CAGR of 140% over the last 5 years with 85% of the sales happening online. We are planning to bring in smart features through a combination of varied sensors and connectivity modules for audio wear, footwear, eyewear and apparels and are looking at acquiring 10-20% of the wearables market over the next 3 years.”
