Moser Baer gets grant from MNRE

MNRE has given a grant to Moser Baer India (MBI) to engage in R&D activities involving copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) solar cells. MBI will conduct its research on the solar cell in its world class R&D facility at Greater Noida. The focus of the project is to develop a differentiated, indigenous and commercially viable technology. It will utilise the core competencies of the Moser Baer Group and its vast resources to deliver high efficiency CIGS solar cells, a promising next frontier in affordable thin film photovoltaic (PV) technologies. It is also believed that CIGS based thin film solar cell technology is likely to emerge as one of the most promising solar cells due to its high efficiency and cost effectiveness.
