Saturday, December 14, 2013: The depleting energy sources are pushing the Indian government to take its solar plans pretty seriously. While there are a few roadblocks, the efforts are on to make the ambitious national solar mission a reality soon.
In the latest, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is reportedly implementing a programme on ‘Energy Efficient Solar/Green Buildings’. This will encourage the energy efficient solar/ green building designs with renewable energy applications, which includes Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) system, reported Indiaeducationdiary.com.
As per the programme, MNRE will be promoting energy efficient solar/green buildings by offering them incentives for promotional activities, awards to urban local bodies as well as green buildings that have the maximum RE installations, incentives to Architects/Design consultants and other activities related to the same.
This was shared by the Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah.
