Shachaf Engineering of Israel and Mahindra Telephonics of India have signed an MoU in Tel Aviv to collaborate on the design, development and manufacture of strategic electronics for aerospace, marine and automotive applications.
The scope of work would involve design, manufacturing and sourcing activities in Israel and India.
According to Business Line, under the MoU, Mahindra Telephonics will jointly develop strategic electronics sub assemblies and systems for aerospace, marine and automotive applications.
Technology transfer and training in specific areas, as identified by both the parties, will also be an integral part of the scope of collaboration, the companies said in a joint statement.
Noting that both the entities are part of large business houses with diversified yet complementary interests in strategic electronics, SP Shukla, Chairman, Mahindra Aerospace, said his company will offer modern, cost-effective solutions for global and Indian customers.
Zeev Harel, CEO, Shachaf Engineering, added in the statement that the company is keen to bring to the table its in-house expertise as well as technical know-how from TTM Technologies. Shachaf Engineering has had a long-term relationship with TTM, and the latter is present in India since 2006.
Shachaf works with Indian companies like Tejas Networks, C-dot, BHEL, BEL, VMC and ECIL.
Mahindra Telephonics leads the Mahindra Group’s interests in strategic electronics.
A joint venture between the Mahindras and US-based Telephonics, it caters to the development and manufacture of airborne radars and electronics systems.
