Mahindra Electric recently announced a collaboration with Meru for a pilot Electric Vehicle project in Hyderabad.
According to a press release issued by the auto maker, the pilot project will see Meru deploy a fleet of eVeritos, the all-electric sedan by Mahindra and the model will be replicated in other cities soon.
In an interaction with PTI, the CEO of Mahindra Electric, Mahesh Babu”said, “As pioneers of electric mobility, we at Mahindra Electric are happy to lead electric fleet adoption in India and are glad to partner with Meru for pilot deployment of eVeritos in Hyderabad.
The spokesperson further stated that this move will undoubtedly make it easier for Hyderabad to adopt EV technology and will also be in line with their constant effort to make EVs more accessible to a larger urban population. In line with the discussion he confirmed that based on the learnings of this pilot the auto major will expand this initiative to induct more EVs in other cities that they operate in.
The services will be available at the same fare as governed by the Telangana government’s radio taxi fares for sedans, the release said.
