Magenta Power and EV charging
Earlier, the group had presented DC Fast Charge, India’s first solar-powered EV charging station in Navi Mumbai. It also launched the country’s first charging corridor. Following suit of its firsts, Magenta Power’s latest release aims to make EV charging a smooth experience. It helps the user to look for charging stations in the nearby areas, provides online payments option and 24×7 assistance. Electric vehicles user can check the availability of charging stations and status of chargers. Its geo-fencing technology can easily detect chargers within a range of 500 meters.
Maxson Lewis, CEO and MD, ChargeGrid, said that the mobile application had been integrated considering the tech-savvy EV users. The aim was to bring EV charging information to a single platform. He also added that the fast-paced and evolving sphere of electric vehicles highlighted the demand for a technology-oriented charging experience. ChargeGrid app caters to EV users willing to keep a track of charging stations for their vehicles and also make use of the 24×7 support extended by the smartphone app.
EV charging stations
The EV charging segment has been witnessing an increasing number of companies introducing their own EV-related products and services. Recently the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Limited announced setting up of 10 charging stations in Nagpur. The government had also announced a subsidy worth Rs. 1000 crores to build a countrywide charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. It has been making efforts to boost the slow-paced National Electric Mobility Mission Plan launched in 2013.
