Kazam To Install 1 Lakh EV Charging Stations By 2023

Over the past 5 months, the platform has installed 200+ charging stations in 11+ states

IoT-based electric charging station platform Kazam has announced that it is all set to install 1 lakh charging stations in India by 2023.

With a focus on delivering smart and affordable charging solutions to address India’s charging infrastructure challenge, Kazam has said that it has partnered with various companies for 300 charging stations in the next 12 months.

To further hasten the plan of 100000 charging stations by 2023, Kazam is in talks with many companies for partnership and plans to tie up with 100+ organizations by the end of 2021. The software used by the brand includes features such as built-in maps and real-time charger status.

Akshay Shekhar, Co-founder Kazam said, “India will require 4 lakh charging stations to accommodate the demand that the 20 lakh EVs on the roads will generate by 2026. Kazam is focused on bolstering the charging infrastructure to serve this growing demand and further propel the country’s EV market.”

Over the past 5 months, the platform has installed 200+ charging stations in 11+ states and currently company is in talks with the government of installing EV charging stations in all petrol pumps.

Recently, NITI Aayog released the handbook on EV Charging Infra in India has suggested that the country needs one charging station at every 25 kms on highways.

NITI Aayog remarked that the EV ecosystem in India is evolving rapidly and there are several players entering the charging infrastructure market which can push for faster adoptability of electric vehicles in India.

Earlier this year, Kazam raised Rs 7 crore in a seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures. Kazam has set up over 30 charging stations in five states – Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi/NCR, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
