To boost India’s sustainable growth, RE firm Juniper Green Energy has partnered with state-run GUVNL and NTPC for hybrid projects of 480 MW capacity.

Juniper Green Energy announced on Wednesday that it has signed power purchase agreements to supply Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) and NTPC with 480 MW of electricity from its solar-wind hybrid projects.

As part of the PPA with GUVNL, Juniper Green will install 190 MW of hybrid capacity, including 140 MW of solar and 50 MW of wind power. This project will produce 412 million units of electricity each year, reduce CO2 emissions by 384,067 tonnes, and provide clean energy to 82,016 households.

The second project, the NTPC Hybrid Tranche-1, features 290 MW of hybrid capacity, with 210 MW from solar and 80 MW from wind, located in Gujarat and Rajasthan. This initiative will generate 633 million units of electricity annually, cut carbon emissions by 590,810 tonnes, and supply power to 126,165 households.

Naresh Mansukhani, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, noted that the partnerships with GUVNL and NTPC go beyond mere contracts, highlighting their joint efforts to advance hybrid energy solutions.

Juniper Green Energy, based in Delhi NCR, is a private renewable power producer specialising in solar, wind, and hybrid projects. Since its founding in October 2018, the company has 1 GW in operation, 2 GW under construction, and 5 GW in development. It is part of the AT Group, which boasts a $2.5 billion global portfolio.
