Harman Unveils High-Performance 5G TCU For Connected Cars

The Ready Connect 5G TCU is a major step forward in automotive connectivity, offering enhanced in-cabin experiences for users and streamlining the time to market and engineering work for OEMs.

Harman, a player in connected vehicle solutions, is showcasing its latest products at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona from February 26-29. These products, including the Harman Ready Connect 5G Telematics Control Unit, are designed to make automotive connectivity more accessible and cost-effective for automakers while enhancing consumer experiences.

The Ready Connect 5G TCU, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis technologies, marks a significant advancement in automotive connectivity. It provides rich in-cabin experiences, reduces time to market, and minimizes engineering efforts for OEMs.

The new Ready Connect product enhances safety and in-cabin experiences by providing timely traffic notifications and improved communication between the car and its environment. In combination with Harman’s SaaS situational awareness offering, it enables a wide range of new applications and connected services for OEMs and their customers.

Ready Connect is a future-proof solution that offers modular hardware upgradability from 4G to 5G and a scalable software architecture. It comes with a predeveloped suite of software applications, such as vehicle diagnostics, to expedite deployment and integration for OEMs.

The Ready Vision product line integrates audio and visual needs, offering a safer and more informed driving experience. The latest product, Ready Vision QVUE, powered by Samsung Neo QLED, provides excellent visual performance and versatility. It minimizes distraction and maximizes engagement by displaying relevant information closer to the driver’s line of sight. Ready Vision QVUE, combined with Ready Connect, provides real-time traffic, navigation, and hazard alerts. Additionally, Ready Care alerts drivers to cognitive distractions, enhancing overall safety.
