MSMEMonday, September 15, 2014: With an aim to foster Micro Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs), the government of India has decided to introduce new national policy marking MSMEs within 100 days.

On Thursday, while inaugurating the three days exhibition, IMS 2014 (India Manufacturing Show) and EMMA EXPO 2014 (Electronics Machinery Moulds Auto Parts), Ananth Kumar, union minister for chemicals and fertilisers said, “Within 100 days, the Narendra Modi government will unveil the first ever national policy on MSMEs.” The MSMEs cater huge employment opportunities to the country for skilled as well as unskilled workers.

He told about the tool room establishment in Bangalore and textile cluster in Mysore, “As a part of the Union Budget, the government of India had announced 100,000 million towards venture capital for new enterprises and startups. It is our job to create an environment that will ensure an inflow of 10,000 million to Bangalore and Karnataka, by supporting the starting of small and medium scale companies.”

He further added, “Manufacturing is an area that holds a lot of promise in the country. If India has to become prosperous, the manufacturing sector should be given priority. We need to bridge the gap between small, medium and large scale industries and such expos are platforms to ensure wide scope for collaborations.”

Commenting upon the problems faced by new entrepreneurs, he mentioned, “Single-window (clearance) should not become another window. State government should provide hassle free single-window clearances of land allotments for all projects.”

Referring to the states which were taking part in expo like Gujarat, Chattisgarh, MP, Rajasthan and Goa, Kumar insisted upon an active participation by all the states in expo for the progress of the country, he said, “I think we need to rise above politics… there is no politics in nation building.”
