General Electric has planned to set up a new manufacturing plant at a potential investment of up to US$ 50 million in India. It also intends to hire 3,000 people for its technology centre. According to John L Flannery, president and CEO, GE India, the location of the manufacturing plant will be finalised by the end of this year and start construction next year. GE is also keen to hire 3,000 people for its India Technology Centre, which has now a 5,000 strong workforce, in the next three years.
