GE Lighting announced the launch of its new LED Snowcone A19, an affordable LED lamp tailored for the consumer market. The product will be available in Asia by September end and in Korea by October this year. Delivering nearly the same output as the incandescent 40W/60W bulb, the LED Snowcone A19 offers an 80 per cent energy savings. Its 15000 hours lifetime compares more than favorably to the incandescent bulbs’ lifetime of 1000 hours. UV and IR radiation can also be avoided with the new LED lamp.

Friday, September 28, 2012: Especially designed for home use, customers can choose from a 7W or 10W lamp, which claims to deliver nearly the same light output as the incandescent 40W and 60W bulbs respectively. As an ideal substitute for the incandescent bulb, GE’s new LED Snowcone A19 offers a comfortable and energy-efficient lighting environment. There is no glare, and with a standard E27 base the lamps can be a direct replacement of incandescent bulbs. The LED Snowcone A19 lamp is also available in various CCT choices to create different lighting effects: 2700K, 3000K, and 6500K.

In addition to the home environment, the LED Snowcone A19 is appropriate for other applications such as hotels, restaurants, and retail shops.

Jane Lo, general manager of Asia PM from GE lighting said, “The LED Snowcone A19 lamp will change the playing field in the LED market as it reaches out to a wider consumer segment. Households can now tap directly into the LED technology to illuminate their homes with a light source that is both affordable and energy-efficient. The beauty of GE’s LED Snowcone A19 lies in its simplicity as a direct replacement for the incandescent while giving off a very similar light output. This new lamp is an extension of our current comprehensive portfolio of LED products for different applications, and is in accordance with GE’s commitment to lead the lighting revolution and to provide energy-efficient and affordable solutions that cater to today’s lighting needs.”
