EV Charging Stations At Every 25 Km In Kerala

According to a recent report by Manorama Online, the electricity board of Kerala is planning to set up electric vehicle charging stations at every 25 km in Kerala over the next two years. The draft proposal has been approved by the board.

As per the news daily, the Centre has invited proposals to start electric vehicle charging stations at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kochi, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur.

The project aims to set up 100 centres that would allow charging six different types of vehicles. Not only that, the transport department has reportedly submitted a recommendation to convert all of the government vehicles to electric ones.

The government is also planning to develop a mobile app to invite applications from those who are interested in setting up the charging stations.

Earlier this year, state-run Kerala Automobiles Ltd (KAL) has signed an MoU with Switzerland-based HESS AG to manufacture electric buses in the state

Recently, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday unveiled the State’s electric-vehicle policy, which has set out a vision to attract ₹50,000 crores in investments.
