Electroprenuer Park invites proposals from Electronics and Hardware startups

Electroprenuer Park (EP), a joint ESDM Startup Incubation Initiative of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and University of Delhi (DU), today invited proposals from Electronics and Hardware startups for Incubation and Virtual Acceleration Programs.

This is Electroprenuer Park’s 4th Season of Startup Incubation, after 3 successful rounds of incubation. The first of its kind, Virtual Acceleration Program, announced by Electroprenuer Park today will further handhold the startups based away from the vicinity of Delhi, by not only providing funding support, incentives, necessary industry-academia partnership and incubation but also by giving access to EP’s state of art labs.

The incubation centre has till date incubated 13 startups, out of which 9 IP patents have been filed, 7 products have been launched and 4 startups have been funded. EP has till now facilitated the start-ups to achieve a cumulative revenue of INR 60 million.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sanjeev Chopra, CEO, Electroprenuer Park said, “Electroprenuer Park has been in the forefront of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Startupindia’ Campaigns since the very time of its inception and today we are glad to add more value to this mission by bringing in fresh sustainable ideas through this platform and are launching”Season 4” invitation of proposals for a new batch of Incubatees.”

The event also saw three of the four startups incubated last year by Electroprenuer Park namely Doorastha Analytics Pvt. Limited, IoTomation Ecotech Pvt. Limited and AJ Simply Purify Technologies Pvt. Limited awarded in the field of Electronic Systems for Energy Monitoring, Intelligent Building and Energy management System, and Air Quality Monitors respectively.

Present at the event, Infineon Technologies India Managing Director Mr Vinay Shenoy said, “Working jointly with Electropreneur Park and IESA, we are engaging the local start-up community in an attempt to fuel innovation and facilitate incubation projects in India. We are currently exploring potential collaborations in hardware and software or systems product developments which can help support the Government’s vision for Make in India, Digital India and 100 SmartCities.”

The event also saw robust discussions around building smart and intelligent solutions to keep cities moving, with innovations such as environmental monitoring systems, energy management and connected devices, as well as fleet management, e-mobility, and intermodal transportation solutions.

 Dr.Omkar Rai, DG, STPI on the occasion said ‘Start-ups are playing a key role in bringing innovation faster and cheaper into the market to address the needs of today and future. In order to leverage this, STPI is strongly promoting start-ups and incubation centres to support development of disruptive technology products and solutions.The traditional industry has been challenged with the pace of technological developments and evolving business models. Electrification of vehicles, self-driven cars, advancements of sensor, smart energy  and environment monitoring architecture, artificial Intelligence, mobility business models, and machine learning are not only disrupting the conventional ecosystem, but is slowly and surely making it obsolete.

IESA, which is a premier trade body committed to the development of a vibrant Indian Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) ecosystem, also participated in the event. Speaking on the occasion Shri Ashwini K Aggarwal, Chairman, IESA said, ‘The intention is to make India a nation of job-creators instead of being a nation of job-seekers. And initiatives like these will insure start-ups that we will bring favourable innovation and developments’.
