We are very hopeful that the strong mandate given to the incoming government will translate into pro-business policies and will place the country on a high growth trajectory. We have seen Narendra Modi as a very pragmatic leader with a long-term vision in Gujarat and are sure that this model will be replicated for the whole country. Modi has already taken futuristic steps for energy saving in Gujarat and we are sure these will be extended across the nation.

Schneider Electric India is committed to all efforts to transform India into a self-sufficient, energy-surplus nation. We hope to partner with the country in developing smart cities as well as boosting the renewable energy segment, in particular. We look forward to policies that will bolster infrastructure development in India, acting as an engine of growth, creating thousands of new jobs and pushing up GDP growth, while lowering poverty levels and bringing alive our collective dream of inclusive growth.

The 2014 general elections have been a phenomenon because of the upsurge registered in the voter turnout this time. As the president of Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacture Association (CEAMA), I extend my heartiest congratulation to the new government. The consumer durable industry looks up to the new government in framing guidelines and initiatives that will pave the way for growth, advance technology and innovation. We further expect a transparent tax policy, and interest rate rationalisation which will lead to competitive level playing opportunities. With the ensuing budget aiming to stabilise the economy, there will be a turnaround in the consumer sentiments. CEAMA foresees an improvement in the industry standards, eradication of grey markets and an overall boost to the sector. The upcoming term will witness a significant increase in foreign investments and further avenues for development.

India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) welcomes the forthcoming government and extends its full support to their vision of development, growth and e-governance, making India a manufacturing and innovation centre for domestic and global players in the electronics industry.

IESA envisions working with the forthcoming government to enable India reclaim its global leadership position in science and technology and attract investments in the private sector. R&D needs a boost to make way for more patents and products made in India. Additionally, declaring electronics as a priority sector, addressing the disabilities, strengthening fabless product ecosystem and encouraging for domestically manufactured electronic products are important initiatives the industry is looking forward to.
