Monday, March 24 2014: As solar power plants await the release of their defined subsidies, some projects have found their way to the lamp lighting. Germany’s Bosch Group has reportedly completed building of a 5 MW solar power plant for the Indian investor Sri Vinayaga Green Power Generation Pvt. The solar plant is situated in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
According to a Bloomberg report, Bosch had designed the project and further built the facility after approval from Sri Vinayaga Green. This plant is estimated to sell approximately 7.6 million KW-hr of power a year. Bosch said that this power will be sold to third-party power consumers.
The project is spread over a 23-acre plot, and equips mono-crystalline silicon solar panels with high-efficiency central inverters. The company’s India hand is further building two other solar photovoltaic (PV) plants of 1 MW each in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Haryana.
In last two years, Bosch has developed several rooftop installations that cover the spectrum of 25 KWp to 200 KWp of solar capacity, in the country. Bosch group provides technology and services that includes automotive parts, washing machines and security systems in about 150 countries.
