In a recent interaction with Economic Times, Alva said that installing more EV charging points at primes locations of a city will encourage people to adapt green technology which will ultimately help in bringing down heavy pollution level in the city.

As a bonus method, Alva also suggested that lake beds should be extensively used for afforestation purposes which will help in increasing the green cover in the state. He suggested that the Hebbal Lake in Bangalore could be taken up on a priority basis, as this could be showcased to domestic and foreign visitors when they come from the airport into the city.
