Acer has packed OJO 500 with over 2,500 games and applications along with a combination of technologies to offer an enhanced user experience
Acer has launched OJO 500, the new Windows Mixed Reality Headset that is garnering attention for its one-of-a-kind detachable design. Chandrahas Panigrahi, CMO and Consumer Business Head, Acer India, said that the new headset is packed with several new features to categorise it as a windows mixed reality one.
Designed mainly to provide flexibility and comfort for consumers and businesses, the OJO 500 is priced at Rs. 39,999. The headset comes with a hard head strap or soft washable one. The design enables the lens and the head strap to be individually removed, making the headset easy to store and clean. Acer claims it is especially beneficial for businesses who want to provide customers with clean headwear for each use.
Packed with technology
Acer claims the headset as the first-of-its-kind headset that is packed with virtual reality, a patented built-in sound pipe technology and a software-assisted interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment technology. This, along with IPD Meter and IPD Indicator software lets the wearer modify the distance between the eye’s pupil and display for sharper and clearer images, thereby offering an enhanced user experience with the combination of technologies.
Speaking about the headset, Panigrahi said that with OJO 500, Acer was trying to offer an enhanced user experience with innovative audio and visual technologies.
As a Windows Mixed Reality headset, there are currently more than 2,500 games and applications available for the Acer OJO 500 between the Steam VR and the Microsoft Store platforms. The headset is set to be available in the market from February 2019.
India’s audio market is viewed as a growing one. Brands dealing with audio products believe that there is a strong demand for audio products in India which is mainly driven by the rapid expansion of the smartphone market. The overall market is expected to hit $1 billion mark by 2020. Acer, with its new product, is set to cater to consumers who look for high-tech products at reasonable prices.
