3i Infotech to Manage HPCL’s IT Infra For 3 Years

The company is planning to expand its reach across geographies and sectors in India; will hire over 200 engineers this quarter

Global IT company 3i Infotech recently announced a multi-year contract of around Rs 510 million from Indian state refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The Digital Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) contract between the two has an initial tenure of 3 years.

It must be noted that HPCL is an old customer of the company, but mostly in North India. However, the new contract read, the remit would include 3i Infotech taking its services across the country including all HPCL locations and data centres. Overall, they will manage and support the IT Infrastructure of HPCL, including offices, refinery, and retail units in over 70+ circles across India. It is noteworthy that 3i Infotech is planning to expand its presence in the country and in the oil and natural energy sector. The company would be ramping up its recruitment plans by hiring about 240 engineers this quarter.

3i Infotech specified that its DIMS includes Data Center Modernization Services, Hybrid Cloud Managed Services, End Point Protection Services, Unified Messaging & Collaboration, and Virtual Desktop Services among others and leverages its multi-domain expertise to build optimal infrastructure setups. Interestingly, Chennai houses 3i Infotech’s state-of-art Global Command Center for its IMS customers providing 24×7 remote infrastructure management services.
