In recognition of its contributions to zero-emission mobility, the company was awarded the ‘Shoonya Infrastructure Champion’ accolade at the 2nd Annual Shoonya Forum in New Delhi.

Tata Power has become a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) charging sector by enabling 10 crore (100 million) green kilometers through its EV charging solutions. This achievement supports the Government’s goal of reaching 1 crore annual EV sales by 2030.

Aligned with national goals for sustainable transportation and e-mobility, supported by initiatives like FAME and the National Electric Mobility Mission, Tata Power has expanded its charging network significantly. The company’s EZ Charge network includes over 86,000 home chargers and more than 5,300 public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, plus over 850 bus charging stations across 530 cities and towns. Placed in locations such as highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, and residential complexes, this infrastructure supports the growing electric mobility sector in India.

The expansion of the company’s network coincides with industry estimates that predict a rise to 1 crore electric vehicle sales annually by 2030. Positioned at the forefront of this transformation, the company is enhancing physical infrastructure and integrating customer-centric, tech-enabled solutions like the RFID card. This card facilitates seamless, wireless payments for EV charging, promoting the tap.charge.go experience.

The Shoonya campaign, started by NITI Aayog in 2021, advocates for zero pollution mobility and has formed significant partnerships with about 200 industry stakeholders, including e-commerce and food delivery services, ride-hailing platforms, vehicle manufacturers, and financial institutions. These partnerships are essential in advancing India’s clean mobility agenda within the electric vehicle ecosystem. Through these initiatives, the company continues to influence the sustainable future, playing a vital role in the transition towards a more environmentally friendly and technologically advanced transportation system in India.
