UST Global has added Bengaluru-based SeviTech to focus on the high-growth of opportunities and offer chip-design solutions

Technology service provider, UST Global, has taken over Bengaluru’s chip designing company, SeviTech, making it to the latest string of acquisitions and mergers. It has also acquired a leading application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design solutions firm. The chip-design firm will be functioning as an independent wing of UST Global.

Gilroy Mathew, Global Head, Semiconductor Business and Head of APAC, UST Global regarded the acquisition as an important part of its plan to strengthen its technical centres of excellence. He added that UST Global had the required expertise in delivering low-power, high-performance chipset solutions to automotive, communication, storage and other industries. By taking over the chip-design firm, he added, the company would reaffirm its status as a company focused on high-growth opportunities in the silicon world.

The US-based company offers end-to-end engineering and technology services in the semiconductor business section. It deals with hardware engineering players and services comprising original device and equipment manufacturers, integrated hardware vendors, ASIC (digital and full custom) design, verification and implementation and implementation of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) besides embedded software development.

Partnership

The UST Global and SeviTech partnership is set to offer the best solutions to global semiconductor manufacturers. It will be combining the expertise of both the companies in the advanced technologies and market areas, thereby covering the growing demand of semiconductor manufacturers globally.

It will further expand UST Global’s presence in India by pushing it to one of the premium VLSI (very large-scale integration) solutions providers and market leaders in pre-silicon engineering.

Prabhu Bhairi, CEO and Co-Founder, SeviTech Systems, also welcomed the move by saying that the international presence of UST Global, along with SeviTech’s strong ASIC engineering teams, would aid in delivering innovative solutions to customers worldwide. He believes that the partnership would cater to meet the end-to-end chip design solutions.
