Rays Power Infra To Commission 500 MW of Solar Energy In Next 9 Months

India installed about 4.6 gigawatts (GW) of solar projects in the first half (1H) of 2021, a 251 per cent increase compared to the same period last year

Solar developer and EPC management company Rays Power Infra said that it is planning to commission 500 MW of solar energy in the next 9 months.

“Rays Power is committed to generating over 500 MW of solar energy within the next nine months to offset the power requirements of 50 per cent rate customers and 50 per cent for utility projects,” a company statement said.

Out of this 500 MW, 220MW would be developed in India, and the remaining 280 MW will add to the brand’s international portfolio, said the company.

In fact, our on-ground construction activities for generating the promised 500MW are in full swing to achieve set targets.”

The commercial and industrial (C&I) segment in India is expected to add 1,875 megawatt (MW) of new capacity in 2021, an increase of 47 per cent compared to the previous year as per a report by the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) and JMK Research.
