The company had recently made an investment in the US-based urban drone logistics platform Matternet. The latter is considered as the most expensive urban drone logistics platform. RattanIndia had also appointed Peeyush Kumar as the head of drone business operations in the country. Kumar was associated with Pixella, a drone company, as CEO before his association with RattanIndia’s NeoSky.

It i to be noted here that the government of India has recently announced a Production Linked Scheme for the drones sector in the country. Last month, the government had also released Draft Drone Rules, which are intended to ensure the ease of using drones in India based on trust, self-certification and non-intrusive monitoring.

The government is also planning to establish drone corridors for cargo deliveries and a drone promotion council to facilitate a drone-friendly regulatory regime.

With the new subsidiary and investment in the EV space as well, RattanIndia seems to be focusing on aggressive yet calculated expansion of its business wings.
