Simmtronics is ramping up its production unit in Greater Noida to start manufacturing set top boxes (STB) under its own brand name. The company is investing Rs 300 million to ramp up its production facility. It plans to manufacture STBs at a cost that is 10-15 per cent cheaper than the other manufacturers. Simmtronics will manufacture the entire range of STBs, for the cable and the satellite platforms.

Manufactures:Hydroelectric power

The National Hydro Power Corp (NHPC) and the Renewable Energy College (REC) of Kolkata are together developing a 50MW floating solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Kerala. NHPC plans to deploy the plant on one of several large water bodies in Kerala.

Welspun Energy Ltd

Deals in: Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)

Welspun Energy Ltd (WEL) has commissioned a power plant located at Diken in the Jwad area of Neemuch district, Madhya Pradesh. The solar power plant has a capacity of 151 (DC) MW and has been commissioned eight months ahead of schedule. The plant is expected to cater to the power needs of 0.624 million homes in Madhya Pradesh.
