Mysuru will soon be getting a world-class testing centre for electronic components and products. The project will be developed in a one acre land and it will be a Common Facility Centre (CFC) to be developed in Hebbal, Mysure. The total cost of the project will be Rs 30 crore.
The project is being developed under the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) scheme where Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) will provide Rs 21 crore, the state government will give Rs 3.5 crore and rest will be provided by cluster of electronics companies in Mysuru.
This will be one-of-a-kind testing centre in the country which will be able to test electronic devices, components as well as end products pertaining to IT hardware, automotive, medical equipment, capital equipment etc. With the government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative there will be more such testing centres which will be required and this electronics testing centre in Mysuru is a big step ahead for the country.
The local companies in the state feel that with this testing centre being set up, it will motivate more players to start manufacturing electronic products in the state. This will in turn also create many job opportunities in Mysuru.
