Greaves Electric Partners With Mesha Energy Solutions For Augmenting EV Business

Mesha Energy Solutions, part of the US based battery technology expert Mesha, have patented solutions to deliver faster charging and longer cycle life for batteries

Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM) has entered into a strategic partnership with Bangalore-based Mesha Energy Solutions for augmenting its EV vehicles business.

Mesha Energy Solutions, part of the US based battery technology expert Mesha, have patented solutions to deliver faster charging and longer cycle life for batteries. Its chemistry expertise helps in two times faster charging. It also delivers an integrated charge balancer, ensuring that the batteries are charged and operate under optimal conditions, said the company.

“Our partnership with Mesha will help in delivering higher performance with advanced battery technology solutions to not only our customers in India but across the globe and strengthen our leadership position in EV,” said Ram Rajappa, chief technology officer, Greaves Electric Mobility. “Our goal is to create technologies to address the issues that are currently faced by batteries such as handling high power requirements, accepting high charging currents and improving the life cycle for deep discharge applications. The solutions that we offer are battery agnostic and enhance the performance of conventional batteries,” said Kannankote Sriram, founder of Mesha, Inc. and board member of Mesha Energy Solution.

In the past few months, Greaves Electric Mobility had acquired electric 3-wheelers company Bestway (ELE e-rickshaw), MLR Auto (e-auto), multi-brand EV retail store AutoEVmart and launched its largest EV factory in Ranipet (Tamil Nadu). NBFC Greaves Finance also provides loans for electric vehicles. GEM has been in the business of EV technology, designing and manufacturing electric vehicles for the past 13 years.

The company claims to have over 1.5 lakh customers and is present in both electric 2-wheelers and electric 3-wheelers segments. Under electric 2-wheelers, its Ampere is claimed to be the fastest growing e-scooter brand in the country. Bestway with ELE brand (e-rickshaw) and MRL Auto with Teja brand (e-autos) are its two fast growing brands in the electric 3-wheelers segment.
