Jharkhand Government To Facilitate Marketing Of Manufacturing Products

The Jharkhand State Government is working on facilitating proper marketing of manufacturing products of local industries. K Ravi Kumar, secretary, Department of Industries, Jharkhand, on Thursday, said that if each and every industry grows, the country will automatically grow and achieve its desired goals and technology adoption can play a critical role in this regard. 

At a recent industry gathering, Kumar stated that to boost the manufacturing sector, the State Government is working on facilitating proper marketing of manufacturing products. He said that innovation and creativity is the key to success of any manufacturing industry and opined that to reduce cost, the local industries need to create their own technology.

The industry also needs to diversify and explore other areas. Kumar affirmed that the Government of Jharkhand commits all support for the growth and development of industry in the State.

Manish Kumar Jha, plant manager, Tata Cummins Pvt Ltd said that employing a highly productivity process is the key to the growth of the manufacturing industry. He stated that the right results are achieved not only because of productivity but also because of value-added activities. He further added that digitalisation and technology adoption will help India to become a global manufacturing hub and a net exporter of manufacturing products.

Sudhir Rai, managing director, Kross Ltd, stated that going forward, the next phase of India’s manufacturing growth will require it to be future ready since there is an increase in the usage of technologies in diverse fields.

The global manufacturing landscape is being transformed by digital technologies such as the “Internet of Things” collectively called “Industry 4.0”. He stated that these digital technologies are key for unlocking manufacturing competitiveness in India and globally.

Neeraj Kant, chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council and managing director of The Indian Steel & Wire Products Ltd opined that Industry 4.0 in its various forms is making its way into the ‘Indian way’ of doing business. Digital technology, augmented reality, use of robots, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc are areas of great intrigue and the Manufacturing companies need to make a significant investment in these areas across sectors in order to go up the ladder.

Vishal Badshah, convenor, CII Jharkhand Manufacturing and engineering panel and plant head—Jamshedpur, Tata Motors Ltd. said that manufacturing is going to be $1 trillion by 2025.

In order to set the stone rolling towards the $1 trillion targets, the country needs to focus on cost parameter of doing business, technology adoption and providing effective policy environment.
