GE Renewable Energy has opened a new Renewable Hybrids factory in Vallam, near Chennai, India.
The site will manufacture the FLEXINVERTER, which is the company’s containerized solution that delivers plug & play factory integrated power conversion platform for utility scale solar and storage applications, along with FLEXRESERVOIR products, which is a system-integrated battery energy storage and power electronics solution for multiple configurations and market applications.
It will also help integrate them with the FLEXIQ offering. The FLEXIQ is a digital platform that provides design, operation and fleet management solutions.
The company said that the factory will be able to fully produce and integrate systems at the site, which reduces the time taken at site and helps create more value for customers.
It is in a central location with national highway connections, as well as accessibility to air and sea transport routes.
While the company did not elaborate on the production capacity and size of the facility, it noted that the factory employs 250 workers.
