Electronics Brand WK Life to Start Manufacturing in India

The brand, which had which had announced its India entry in October 2018, has opened 14 new stores in India (Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mohali, Hyderabad, and Guwahati) and has signed over 100 signed franchises which will go live in the next three months

England-based consumer electronics brand WK Life will be setting up a manufacturing unit for high-end electronic goods in Northern India by the of 2021. The company has plans to manufacture 30 per cent of its products in India. The decision was taken keeping India’s skilled and disciplined workforce, low cost of manpower, and strong technical and engineering capabilities in mind.

“If industry reports are to be believed, the consumer electronics industry is expected to reach Rs 1.5 lakh crore by 2025, from the present Rs One lakh crore. It shows how the demands for electronic items are increasing. Not only in urban markets but also in rural markets, durables consumer goods would witness growing demand in the coming years as the government has invested significantly in rural development,” said Rohit Sahni, Director, WK Life.

Sahni added, “Therefore, to meet the growing demands of electronic items, we have decided to set up our own manufacturing units and also tying up with prominent manufacturers in India. It will be most probably in Northern India. Our homemade personal care items are already out. They are 100% herbal with no presence of synthetic chemicals.”

“The driving force in India is its vast population and with better markets and more organized retail spaces, it’s become easier to reach out to them. In WK Life, we offer our customers over 500 product categories and our offerings are growing every day. We believe the quality of products plays a very important role in trust-building, which is one of the many reasons why we put more focus on physical retail chains, where people can visit their nearest stores, as compared to omnichannel presence,” said Gaurav Dabas, Co-Director, WK Life.

Dabas added, “Even our offline sales have gone up by 30 percent in the last year. We are planning to expand to over 125 retail stores across India in the next two years.”
