In February 2012, Yamaha launched the YSP20 solder paste printer
Features and USP: The YSP20 is a dual stage, dual lane, dual stencil solder paste printer developed to achieve a five second cycle time, plus a variety of new and unique functions. In addition to more than doubling the printing speed compared to its previous model, the new system also enables unique functions such as non stop changeover, sequential printing and asynchronous processing, allowing for the truly independent operation of a complete dual lane SMT line.

Pick and place machines
In January 2012, Essemtec launched the FLX2011 series of pick and place machines with a cost efficient placing force measurement option.
Features and USP: The measurement system consists of a chuck where the actual placement takes place. Substrates such as PCBs can be easily inserted and fixed. The chuck allows for the processing of substrates with a maximum size of 200 x 200 x 3 mm. The FLX2011 pick-and-place machine offers an extraordinary application range, which is ideal for subcontractors or product manufacturers of a large variety of different PCBs. It features easy programming and setting up, an intelligent feeder and inventory concept, and enables changeover with no downtime.

Embedded devices
In February 2012, National Instruments announced four new NI single board RIO board level embedded devices.
Features and USP: The devices feature a real time processor, the Spartan-6 field programmable gate array (FPGA), an analogue and digital I/O and more built-in peripherals for custom-embedded control and monitoring applications. The new devices provide engineers with off the shelf FPGA and real time processor technology through NI LabVIEW while maintaining the custom I/O often required for high volume deployments through the option of a RIO Mezzanine Card connector.
